December 1

Arrive Krakow

Upon arrival in Krakow, you will be met and transferred to your city center hotel. After check-in, we proceed for a short walk to the Christmas Market.

Return to hotel for welcome dinner and wine at hotel.

Kraków was the official capital of Poland until 1596 and has traditionally been one of the leading centers of Polish academic, cultural and artistic life. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it stands out primarily for its Main Square, also known simply as the Old Market Square. Its architecture is truly impressive, and the Cloth Hall, located within the Market Square, allows you to feel the unusual atmosphere of a medieval marketplace.

Day 3

Tuesday

December 2

KRAKOW

After breakfast, a city tour by bus and walking. You will visit Saint Mary’s Basilica (Polish: Kościół Mariacki), a brick Gothic church adjacent to the Main Market Square in Kraków. Built in the 14th century, Rynek Główny (Central Square) is the nerve center of the city’s medieval Old Town. A bustling hub, this 40,000 square foot medley of café’s, museums, clubs, pubs, music bars, souvenir shops, historical landmarks, hotels and hostels is marked with some of the most magnificent middle age architecture the city has to offer.

Day 4

Wednesday

December 3

KRAKOW

After breakfast, a full day excursion to Wieliczka Salt Mines.

The history of Wieliczka dates back to the Middle Ages, when it was proudly named the Magnum Sal – the Great Salt. In the 13th century, it was known as the largest source of salt in Poland. Over the years it became crucial for the country’s economy.

Lunch en route in Hotel Grand Sal.

Return to Krakow for dinner at hotel.

Day 5

Thursday

December 4

KRAKOW

After breakfast, a tour of Wawel Castle and Cathedral. Tour ends at Market Square where the annual Cracovian Christmas Crib competition takes place at noon.

The Wawel Royal Castle sits on Wawel Hill. It is the most historically and culturally significant site in Poland. A fortified residency on the Vistula River in Kraków, it was erected on the orders of King Casimir III the Great and expanded over the centuries into a number of structures around an Italian-styled courtyard. It represents nearly all European architectural styles of the Medieval Renaissance and Baroque periods.

Krakow Christmas Market It is just like the stunning Main Market Square, but lit up with twinkling lights and wooden stalls brimming with handcrafted ornaments, wool scarves and unique gifts. The smell of delicious Polish treats like pierogis, grilled sausages and mulled wine fills the air. It’s the perfect spot to warm up with a cup of “grzaniec” (Polish mulled wine) as you browse. Expect live music, carolers, and maybe even a surprise visit from St. Nicholas. And don’t miss the traditional nativity scenes (szopki) that locals create that are a real treat. With festive lights, amazing food and a magical atmosphere, Krakow’s Christmas market is all about making unforgettable holiday memories!

Dinner at hotel.

Kasprowy Wierch and Gubałówka, reachable by cable car and funicular, are nearby ski spots offering sweeping mountain views. The town is also known for its turn-of-the-20th-century wooden chalets, symbols of Zakopane-style architecture.
